Accounts Payable Specialist
A leading manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist with expertise in 3-way match processing to join its team. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of accounts payable functions critical to the company’s operations. This position is 100% onsite in New Haven, CT

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in 3-way match accounts payable processing, ensuring accurate matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Key responsibilities include:

• The accounts payable specialist will be responsible for processing and reconciling invoices using the 3-way match method to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Managing vendor relationships, including responding to inquiries and reconciling statements.
• Handling weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and updating the vendor database.
• Preparing and issuing vendor 1099 forms is a responsibility of the accounts payable specialist.
• Assisting with month-end close processes, including reconciling accounts payable to the general ledger.
• Supporting internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
• Collaborating with purchasing and receiving teams to ensure seamless operations.

Preferred Qualifications of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

• AAS/BS degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, with a strong focus on 3-way match processing.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Intermediate MS Excel skills, including v-lookups and pivot tables.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures and general ledger chart of accounts.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
